Trump: Cuban Leadership Would Not Have Held Out In Case Of Re-election

Miami –

Former US President Donald Trump assured the Hispanic network Telemundo that the Cuban government would not have endured a second term of his due to the sanctions it imposed on him.

“I think they could not last much longer, because I made sanctions, I did many other things as you know, and now they feel emboldened,” the Republican told Telemundo 51 channel.

During his four-year term, Trump attacked the Cuban regime with travel restrictions and trade sanctions on those who negotiate with companies linked to the Cuban military, among other measures.

The Republican, who was defeated by Democrat Joe Biden in last November’s elections, said that “much of the work we did for Cuba and the freedom of the people will be swept under the table by the Biden administration.”
